Volunteer opportunities 
with Frinton Mission! 

How to volunteer to help with children ...

To work with children and young people on FM, you need to be a committed Christian, following the Lord Jesus Christ in your daily life

Below are the names of the various age-groups, and the range of times you would be required if you applied to join any particular group

Every team member will need an up-to-date DBS certificate, no older than July 2014, ideally through your own church. You will also need references from a church leader and from another Christian who knows you well

16 year-olds may apply to work with children of 10 and under

Bytesize: 3 & 4 year olds
Monday to Friday, mornings only, in St Mary’s Parish Church Hall, Old Road
Supporting pre-school children in various activities,
under the leadership of age-group leaders

Soundbytes: 5-7 year olds (school years Reception, 1 and 2)
Monday to Friday mornings and most afternoons,
in St Mary’s Parish Church, Fourth Avenue
Co-leading groups of children,
under the leadership and guidance of the age-group leaders

Megabytes: 8-10 year olds (school years 3 to 5)
Monday to Saturday mornings, and at least one other activity each day,
in Frinton Free Church
Co-leading groups of children,
under the leadership and guidance of the age-group leaders

Crash: 11-13 year olds (school years 6 to 8)
Monday to Saturday mornings, and at least one other activity each day, 
in the Gospel Chapel, Old Road
Leading groups of young people,
under the leadership and guidance of the age-group leaders

Download: 14-17 year olds (school years 9 to 13)
Sunday to Sunday mornings, and most afternoons and evenings,
in No 4, Connaught Avenue
Leading groups of young people,
under the leadership and guidance of the age-group leaders

1:1 Additional Needs Support: any age up to 17
Times depends on the age of the client; support offered to enable client to engage
to as great a degree as possible, with the activities of their age-group

Crèche: under 3s
Primarily in the mornings, Monday to Friday, providing quiet play equipment and support
in the small marquee attached to the Main Marquee, for children with people attending a Marquee Morning event

Although not working with children, we also need volunteers for:

Marquee Support Team 

Between the team, covering 9am till 10pm every day,
in and around the Marquee,
ensuring the smooth and safe running of all marquee events;
moving furniture;
interacting with members of the public;
helping in all sorts of ways
